Our Timeline

Our programming operates on a yearly schedule that follows the academic calendar. This ensures that we can complete our summer distribution every year.

Fall

  • Project development and proposals
  • Outreach to community partners in the United States and Philippines

Spring

  • Ongoing medical, hygiene,  and school supply drives
  • Program events with student organizations are taking place
  • Continuing outreach to community partners

Summer

  • Balikbayan boxes packed

  • Distribution to Filipino partners, centers, and hospitals
  • PHIntern Passion Project showcase

Student Organizations

Collaborations with student organizations are our primary way of engaging with the broader college & high school community -- we share our mission through informative presentations, service events, and donation drives! With our partners, we provide materials such as presentation slides, instructions, and, if necessary, financial support to purchase supplies for the event.

Below are examples of events we have completed with student organizations in the past.

Donation Drives

Choosing a PHI program to support, your organization's members will collect and bring in item donations as a point or service opportunity. PHI will cover any costs associated with the donation drive, including transportation of items from your organization to PHI and collection vessels.

Tote Bag Decorating

In support of our Pediatric Care Program, PHI's hand-decorated tote bags are a great social & service event that you can bring to your organization. Volunteers will decorate canvas tote bags with markers or paint pens; these bags will be packed with donated items for distribution to pediatric patients in the Philippines.

Penpal Letters

PHI's penpal letters to the Philippines are a simple, yet impactful way to bring our mission to your organization's general body. Our cards include common Filipino phrases that are aimed to help the recipient child feel more comfortable during their hospital stay.
