What are Communications Chairs?

Communications Chairs (CCs) are the creative eye of Philippine Health Initiative, bringing project ideas and visions to life.

Managed by Kayla Kho, Director of Communications, Communications Chairs are able to express their personal creative visions through media projects (i.e. videos, documentaries, films) and graphic design.

Details and Timeline

This position lasts from August – May, varying from 2-4 hours/week.

Communications Chairs bring PHI's mission to the greater community by sharing our mission, scope, and events through social media. This role allows creative students the opportunity to continuously be involved with PHI through content creation, photography, video editing, and graphic design.   

Depending on your preference of creative interest, we will ask you to volunteer your skills in several ways. Examples of these include:

  • Serving as photographer at PHI events such as student organization collaborations, PHI-internal headshots and photoshoots, and PHI events.
  • Editing videos and short documentaries intended to share our mission in an impactful, well-crafted story. 
  • Creating graphics to be posted on our social medias to promote PHI events in real-time and communicate our impact on a regular basis.

Jackson joined PHI because of the tangible impact it allows him to make on his community and the greater world around him.

Shaira Jean Cayubit

Graphics Chair

Shaira joined PHI because she wanted to be part of a meaningful cause that gives back to the community and supports underserved children in the Philippines. The organization's commitment to bridging the gap between US resources and pediatric facilities deeply resonated with her.
