What are Fundraising Chairs?

Fundraising Chairs are a group of highly motivated undergraduate college students who are responsible for organizing, optimizing, and expanding PHI’s fundraising efforts within the city that they live.

Managed by Joshua Salva, Director of Finance, Fundraising Chairs will communicate between different branches (i.e., CDs, PHInterns, University Chairs, PHI Executive Board) to best structure and promote fundraisers to maximize the revenue PHI obtains through in-kind donations and other money-making initiatives.

Details and Timeline

FCs are encouraged to leverage their on-the-ground knowledge about different local businesses, school organizations, and other non-profit organizations to develop, manage, and complete their own unique fundraising initiatives within their local communities.

As a supplemental aim, FCs may assist with researching, writing, and proofreading grant applications. In collaboration with the Brooklyn Law Center (via TRIIBE), PHI hopes to apply for additional grants during the 2026-2027 school year.

In 2025, PHI collaborated with Hoop Culture, an Orlando-based basketball and lifestyle clothing company, to create PHI-designed t-shirts. Financial support was generously provided by HAAPI (the Healthcare Alliance of Asian and Pacific Islanders) at Nemours Children's Health. FCs are expected to spearhead and assist with similar fundraising initiatives during their time with PHI.

This position lasts from June to May. FCs are expected to dedicate 2-6 hours per week towards this role.

Meetings with the Director of Finance and all FCs will be held biweekly OR monthly (TBD). As FCs are expected to work mostly within their geographical regions, the Director of Finance will meet as needed with FCs from different locations to coordinate specific fundraising initiatives.
