Applications for 2026-2027
Philippine Health Initiative (PHI) is a 501(c)(3) student-run, nonprofit organization that connects underserved pediatric medical and educational facilities in the Philippines to material and financial resources in the United States. We share Filipino culture and collaborate with our communities to enrich all aspects of a child’s health. PHI currently consists of two branches: project-based teams that are focused on engaging our local and Filipino communities through development of projects and internal teams that aim to spread PHI's mission through campus representation, fundraising, and communications. Check out our Instagram @philippinehealthinitiative and website for more information.
Philippine Health Initiative is a one-of-a-kind organization. As a cross-continental, youth-led organization, the PHI team is uniquely positioned to create tangible impact in the Philippines and our members make our mission a reality. We are supported by grant organizations (i.e. TRIIBE), hospitals (i.e. Nemours Children’s Health), and family & friends that are equally invested in the next generation of social impact leaders and making your visions in PHI come to life.
As a PHI member, you'll receive training in project management, professional communication, event planning, outreach, cultural sensitivity, and volunteerism, to name a few benefits, through your role.
Beyond just an organization, we consider all of our members part of our family. We host socials, meals, and hangouts with one another (as possible) because we want to make you feel at home at PHI. We are excited to potentially welcome you as part of our PHI team and hope that you reach out to our Executive Board members with any and all questions you have.
Application Information
For more information about each role you can apply to, visit the respective page on our website under the "Our Team" tab. Applications close on May 16th at 11:59pm EST. Interviews will take place the last week of May.
Please note, only college undergraduate students can apply to the City Director program and high school students can apply to the PHInternship program.
If you have any questions, please feel free to email president@phhealthinitiative.org.
General Information
As an organization, we use the platforms Discord and Google Drive to remotely meet, connect, and work together. Our general PHI body typically meets 1-2 times a semester for GBMs and informally get-to-know one another through our semester socials. We want you to feel passionate and connected to the work you do with us, not just going through the motions for the sake of it.
Philippine Health Initiative has a three-strike policy. If you know you’ll be absent/late to a scheduled meeting, you are required to notify your supervisor at least 24 hours in advance. Failure to notify will result in a strike. Upon the third strike, you will either be placed on probation or be dismissed from their role.
Of course, we understand life happens. If you have an emergency and are unable to do so, we will be understanding of your situation.
